The aim is to support the realization of the mentees\u2019<br \/>\ndevelopment aspirations through the mentor\u2019s active listening, sharing of insights,<br \/>\ncontextualizing and exploring experienced challenges and advice, all with the maritime industry<br \/>\nas a backdrop.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The WISTA Norway Maritime Meet-up Program has been running since 2012, when it was started in<br \/>\ncollaboration with Youngship.<\/p>\n<p>We will kick off the next program end of September or early October 2026 at in-person events (Oslo and Bergen)<br \/>\nand blended events for those elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Both mentors and mentees can now sign up starting April until August 15, 2026. Middle of June the<br \/>\nboard will contact all candidates for individual conversations in order to prepare for the mentor program.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PROGRAM TIMING AND STRUCTURE<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The next program will run from <\/span><b>September 2026 to September 2027.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> We recommend holding Mentor\/Mentee meetings in person when possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We propose to keep each meeting between one and a half to two hours, but it is up to the Mentor and the Mentee to agree on what suits them best.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Communication methods should be agreed upon by both parties.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mentoring conversations must be a safe space for both participants.\u00a0 Mutually ensure that your Mentor\/Mentee \/>\nforward.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm the date, time, and location for each meeting with the Mentor.<\/li>\n<li>Come to each meeting prepared with a goal, topic, or question to discuss in order to<br \/>\nmake good use of the Mentor\u2019s time.<\/li>\n<li>Preparations and agendas should be communicated in advance, so the Mentor has time<br \/>\nto consider the points for the<br \/>\nMentee \u2013 increasing their understanding of and ability to handle challenges on their own.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Actively listen and explore scenarios: help Mentees explore where a course of action<br \/>\nmight lead while ensuring that Mentees retain ownership of the challenge\/opportunity and<br \/>\ndecide how to manage it best.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Feedback: Mentors listen for facts and feelings and provide feedback on the whole<br \/>\nmessage.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Provide information: personal insight, options, and ideas at a time when the Mentee is<br \/>\nready for them.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Help the Mentee
